The Challenge

Schaltbau India, a subsidiary of the Munich-based global technology leader, faced the challenge of launching their specialized product line of DC contactors, snap-action switches, and connectors in the rapidly expanding Indian EV and Solar sectors. The primary objective was to showcase their technical precision and ‘Made in India’ manufacturing capabilities to prospective clients, OEMs, and distributors at high-profile industrial exhibitions.

Market Insights

The Indian EV charging market and renewable energy storage sectors are currently at a critical junction, requiring high-voltage safety components that can withstand demanding conditions. Our research indicated that while many players offer standard electrical components, the market lacked awareness regarding the safety differentiators of specialized DC technology. The ‘Aha!’ moment was realizing that in high-voltage DC applications, safety isn’t just a feature—it is the brand’s primary value proposition. We tapped into the increasing demand for ‘Made in India’ localized solutions within the Green Energy ecosystem.

The Strategic Solution

Dolphin Branding positioned Schaltbau as the ‘Safety Architect of India’s Green Future.’ The strategy focused on ‘Visual Authority,’ translating complex German engineering into accessible and high-impact visual stories. We decided on a ‘Product-First’ personality: clean, technical, and authoritative. The core concept was ‘Precision & Reliability,’ highlighting the bi-directional switching capabilities and the extreme shock resistance of their contactors.

Design & Execution

Visual Identity: We maintained the global Schaltbau blue-and-white color palette but introduced localized messaging focused on ‘Made in India’ manufacturing at their Manesar and Navi Mumbai sites. The typography used was clean and technical to represent industrial precision and aligned with the company’s brand guidelines.

Exhibition Branding: We designed large-format backdrops and standees for trade shows that categorized products by application: ‘Rail,’ ‘Energy,’ and ‘E-mobility’. Each visual emphasized safety specs like bi-directional switching for the C303 and C803 series.

Technical Collaterals: Brochures and product data sheets were redesigned for exhibitions to provide quick-read technical insights for engineers and procurement heads, focusing on the S800 snap-action switches and LV series charging connectors.

  • Qualitative: Successfully established Schaltbau as a market standard for safety in modern Indian rail and e-mobility transport. Stakeholders noted that the unified exhibition branding made the booth a standout destination for technical inquiries.
